Congress moves to protect polluters in farmland sludge rider

Sewage sludge, rebranded as “biosolids,” has been spread on more than 70 million acres of U.S. farmland, carrying toxic PFAS chemicals into soil, water, and food.

After the EPA’s draft report confirmed PFAS are hazardous and likely carcinogenic, Section 507 appeared in both House and Senate appropriations bills to halt the report and block new protections — overriding Congress’s own mandate for EPA oversight.

Tell Congress to reject Section 507. This rider would silence science, protect polluters, and leave toxic PFAS chemicals unchecked on America’s farmland. Contact your representatives today and demand they stand with farmers, families, and clean food — not chemical corporations.
